Thank you so much for making our first venture abroad with our 20 month old so fabulous… and easy!
We have NEVER stayed anywhere so welcoming, we knew it was going to be perfect from the second that Joseph spotted the train and digger toys waiting for him!
The garden is wonderful, the gite is lovely. I’m running out of adjectives! A beautiful area, we will definitely be back and we going to spread the word about ‘Les Fleurs’ on our return to the UK.
Best wishes to Sue, we hope to see you both again soon, Thanks again for providing us with the relaxing break we so needed.

Thanks guys. We loved it!

Our 4th visit to Les Fleurs! This time we came with our daughter, her husband and our 2 grand daughter’s who all stayed in ANJOU.
We keep finding new places to go and things to see and are still in love with Les Fleurs. The tranquillity of this place is perfect.
We are looking forward to Sue’s meals next time we come
Thanks again Jon and Sue for a fantastic holiday.
(Tony and Lynda Wilmslow Cheshire June 2008.)
Lovely location for exploring the Vendee and the Loire, and we’ve spent a very happy week at Lys Fleurs. We loved LYS especially for its peace and quite, wonderfully appointed kitchen and pretty little private and secluded garden.
Wonderful walks through the vineyards too!
(Steve and Sue. London May 2008)
Beautiful gite. Thank You!
We’ve had a lovely week. BBQ’s fantastic - eaten like kings every night on Lys’s beautiful private patio - not to mention your wine, which we’ve drunk enthusiastically all week.
Our tips: Doue Zoo is amazing - stunning animals in unique setting, Montreuil Bellay is a must on a sunny day - beautiful skyline and take a picnic by the river… PERFECT!
(Chris and Lucy. Leeds May 2008)
Very enjoyable stay in a very peaceful and well positioned gite.
We have been blessed with sunny weather. The area has a lot to offer. Try not to do too much in one day!!! Highlights; Chateau Breze and the Zoo at Doue la Fontaine.
(Paul and Bev Edithvale Australia. May 2008)
We have found our holiday here enormously easy. Our hosts Jon and Sue could not be more helpful.
The whole Loire is so easy to reach. And so much to see.
(Annette and David. Shropshire May 2008)
We’ve come to France for a wedding and only needed a long weekend stay.
Jon & Sue accommodated this and provided all the little extras that made our stay here easy & enjoyable. (bag of toys for our baby).
Would DEFINITELY recommend!

(Joanne, Daryl, Emily and Jack Sept 2007)
We have had a wonderful relaxing holiday here at ‘Les Fleurs’. Jon and Sue were on hand to give advice on where to go and what to see, they have been wonderful hosts. I cannot fault any of the facilities here at Les Fleurs. We have a four year old son who has really enjoyed himself at the pool and playing with the toys provided. To finish off, there’s Sue’s cooking and Jon’s waiter service which is something out of a top class restaurant at home, food is excellent, overall ’Les Fleurs’ is excellent and we will be back. Thanks Jon and Sue
(The Kelly’s - N.Devon August 2007)
This has been our second stay at ‘les Fleurs’ and our first time in Lys. We have again enjoyed our stay, this time for two weeks. We have also had lots of help from Sue and Jon which has enabled us to buy our own Bed and Breakfast in France. Many thanks to you both. Garden and swimming pool really good, our daughters have really enjoyed themselves.
(Maggie, Paul and family – South East –August 2007)
As your previous guests have said this really is the place to relax – so comfortable and peaceful – great food - thanks for your special meals Jon and Sue. Lovely French people, so friendly and helpful (must go for more French lessons when we get home) – good walks and bike rides – 96 miles of hassle free riding along the roads hereabouts. I think another English couple will be moving here soon, but will be back anyway.
(Geoff and Liz – Lancashire –August 2007)
We have had a really lovely, relaxing holiday, the place had everything we needed (plenty of books and scrabble!) congratulations to Jon and Sue on their professional set-up and I’ll be recommending the gîtes to my friends. Cheers! Ps The zoo at Doue la Fontaine was the best ever!!!!
(Jim and Verity Essex July 2007)
This is our fourth visit and we keep thinking that at sometime something must go wrong. But no, everything, as usual, was perfect. If there are better hosts anywhere we’ve yet to find them!! Thanks guys for bringing everyone together from all three gîtes for BBQ and boules – pity the rain came down when the ‘boys’ were winning yet again! But more than that. Thanks for being you. We always feel that Lys is an extension of our home and that you are part of our extended family. See you next year!
(Ian and Gaynor – Nottingham – July 2007)
We’ve had a great two weeks in Lys cottage – the accommodation has been excellent! Weather a bit cloudy but didn’t stop us from seeing all the region has to offer. Been a very relaxing holiday. Many thanks to you both

Overall fantastic gîte, fantastic hosts and we will be back!!
(Helen, Paul and Nimiah - Hertfordshire – May 2007)

We have found our holiday here enormously easy. Our hosts Jon and Sue could not be more helpful.
The whole Loire is so easy to reach. And so much to see.
(Annette and David. Shropshire May 2008)
We’ve come to France for a wedding and only needed a long weekend stay.
Jon & Sue accommodated this and provided all the little extras that made our stay here easy & enjoyable. (bag of toys for our baby).
Would DEFINITELY recommend!

It’s difficult to add anything that has already been written in this book. Fabulous area of France, wonderful food and drink, superb accommodation and the very best of hosts! Thank you Jon and Sue
(Don and Lynne Sept. 2007)
Thank you for a wonderful week of relaxation. Many thanks too for those ‘extra bits’ you organized for us. We loved your dining experience, it was absolutely delicious. The area here is in a perfect location to see the region and your gîtes have been beautifully done. Thank you again Jon and Sue

(Ian and Hilary- June 2007)
An exceptional holiday hosted by exceptional people. Jon and Sue this is the holiday that you don’t brag about, otherwise it would be hard to find an available week to visit. Thank you

(Ian and Sue - Berkshire - May/June 2007)
Really lovely gîte, perfect for us with a 5 month old daughter. We really enjoyed our stay; Jon and Sue are perfect hosts. We got a flight over the Loire with Jon which was fantastic. The dinner that we received in the gîte was Michelin standard, it was brilliant! We would also recommend the Auberge Beinvenue for a night out in Doue la Fontaine . Overall fantastic gîte, fantastic hosts and we will be back!!
(Helen, Paul and Nimiah - Hertfordshire – May 2007)
Sue and Jon. Thank you for making the last two months very special for us. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Loire and have had the most wonderful time. It has been made all the more wonderful by being here at ‘Les Fleurs’. You have been exceptional hosts, attentive and caring and we have very much appreciated your kindness and hospitality. Congratulations on Lys, it is a wonderful gîte, superbly equipped and infused with the most charming and romantic atmosphere. We will always treasure our memories of our time here. Best wishes always.

Sue & Jon. Thank you for being the best hosts. Always around but never intrusive, we’ve had a great week.. We would highly recommend taking a picnic to Montreuil Bellay and spending the afternoon walking along the river it is beautiful. We would then highly recommend a return trip in the evening to the
restaurant of the Hotel Splendid, great food and they speak a little English if you get stuck!
